What are the side effects of this surgery?
The most common side effects of laser vision correction are "halo" effect and some glare at night around lights. These effects most commonly diminish with the normal healing process in 2-3 months. These are related to the area of treatment on the surface of the eye and the size of your pupil in dim lighting. However, these problems are no worse than what most contact lens and eyeglass wearers often experience. Using the WaveLight Allegretto we can more effectively expand the treatment areas more so than any other laser, thereby reducing the risk of the side effects in patients with larger pupils.
